Man, I hate to hear that... Nothing like driving an old mustang in the rain with 4-wheel manual drum brakes and wipers that are tiny and slow.
Oh well... at least my cowl doesn't leak.

Been in rain leaving Dallas. The convertible doesn't leak yet.

I'm in south Mississippi (about an hour from the coast) and it's a beautiful sunshiny day here... maybe you'll get into some nicer weather as you head this way.

We're in Kilgore. Ow and it is scattered clouds mostly sunny

Weather Channel is saying tropical depression approaching FL panhandle by Friday and could turn to CAT 2 hurricane. Geez Louise! Nothing like driving in Rain with fogged up widows.

Yup appears as though that Tropical Depression is headed for NW Florida, though the ETA is widely varried at this point. I've even heard late Sunday nite it could still be off shore.
All we can do iz keep an eye on it.

Looks like the bash will need to be stepped up a notch.

Me and my gang got into Destin today and it’s beautiful.

From what I see.. The rain will hold off until Saturday afternoon.

Weather perfect right now in Baton Rouge. My concern is the return trip from FWB back to Texas along the coast. If the hurricane hits the coast Sunday, we will be driving home in a hurricane with no place to hide and in unfamiliar territory.
The worst decisions make the best stories, but this could lead to major property damage and life threatening conditions on the ride home.
I am thinking I will not be going to Florida due to the weather possibilities on the return trip. Perhaps we have a mini bash at Felix's Fish Camp restaurant and then head out. Will finalize this decision this morning when we meet in the hotel lobby. I may be the only one with this opinion, but I do not want to get stuck driving in hurricane conditions after the bash.

Can you give us an update on your decision?
I've been debating on whether or not to go to FL... and if I do, whether or not to drive home on Saturday night instead of Sunday to try to beat the storm.

What if you guys head North on your way out? Obviously if schedules are tight that can be an issue, but if you have the time it could be a nice trip through Alabama and Mississippi.

I was just thinking you get get North of the bad stuff and then head back West when you're well inland. So you're not driving in the worst stuff, just rain.

I'm still coming... just gonna leave on Saturday night instead of Sunday. See y'all tomorrow!

We decided to go ahead and make the trip to FWB. Corky did a great job with the shrimp dinner and we sat on the beach until 11:30.
Might have to cut the bash short on Saturday, but looks like the show WILL GO ON.

Well, unfortunately I sold that 3.80 chunk, but I was still looking forward to talking to you! The only time I even saw you was very briefly at Floyd's shrimp house. I was going to come over and speak after we were finished eating, but when I looked back again y'all had already left... then I didn't see you at the bash.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
