I understand that you finished the IRS in your Mustang - correct? I've never seen anything telling how well it works. Care to enlighten the ignorant? Thanks!

Welllllll...... It's in the car, and I have driven the car but I have not done more then pull the car in and out of the garage, so how well it works in my car is still an unknown. The last year has not given me much time to work on cars and the time I have had has been spent on the Galaxie. I finally got the old Gal back on the road so I can enjoy driving it and am finally turning my attention back to the mustang. The Stang is fully gutted (still has a drivetrain) at the moment. I have pulled all the bolt on panels, all the glass and have it stripped down. Most of the time has been spent fixing the things I didn't do correctly when I "restored" it the first time.
For some real world answers on the IRS Mustsed had fitted three Mustang with Jaguar IRS. The first one he welded in, but the second two he used my bolt in design and he has been thrilled with the results.
Here is a thread on my IRS forum about one of his instralls.

Thanks Day! This is one of those things that I would not have the courage to do but I have to admire those who do it with good results. And thanks for that great link too.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
