Last year my old TKO gearbox lost 3rd gear at the last race. The TKO was an early one based on the 3550 unit. The new one is the TKO 600. The old one ran 15 years in the race car without an issue and was beat on quite severely. The new one required a new PRO 5.0 shifter since the bolt pattern is quite different. The new shifter looks just like the old one other than bolt pattern. Over the weekend, there was a fair amount of trans fluid that came out of the shifter. When I filled the new tranny, I filled till it ran out the fill hole just like I had always done. So I am trying to figure out why the thing is spewing fluid out? Not a tremendous amount, just a messy amount. Anybody seen this before?

No DC, that's a new one. If you get stuck call Bob Hanlon at Hanlon Motorsports. He's the man when it comes to Tremecs. 610-469-2695

No problem. I've know Bob and Linda for years, from back when I used to rebuild a lot of T5's, T56s, and Tremecs. I'd run up there once a month and pick up the rebuild kits and hard parts I needed to save shipping cost (man, times were tight back then). Really, really good people. Anytime I can send someone their way I know they'll be well taken care of.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
