Clutch linkage with brake booster 67

Clutch rod hits bottom of brake booster and interferes with operation of clutch linkage. Not interested in hydraulic, but does anyone have experience with this? Modified the clutch rod or made something to make this work?

Re: Clutch linkage with brake booster 67

Mustang Steve's cable clutch kit would completely solve it for sure if you have a T5 or Tremec.  Not sure about a Toploader, etc.

Re: Clutch linkage with brake booster 67

Is there not a solution that allows you to keep the factory z-bar setup and have power brakes?  Were manual transmission cars not available with power brakes in the 60's?

Re: Clutch linkage with brake booster 67

If you use a factory style Midland booster or a 69 Bendix booster and the correct power brake pedal, the factory clutch rod will fit fine.
See my faq page on pedals and boosters on the mystangsteve.com site.

It sounds like someone installed an oversized booster on your car, and they may or may not have installed the correct power brake pedal when they made the incorrect installation.
