Re: horn contact in column

no other safe way.. honestly ... I can see something with a spring from a pen and contact pad made just the right size.. YOu do need there to be spring action there.. without it  the copper on the other side will start to peel off and cause a short.

its so easy to install that harness.. the NOS ford parts are expensive but last forever..

If it aint broke, I have'nt tried to "Fix" it yet!

Re: horn contact in column

Yeah, let me know the year and I can probably track one down for you.  I'm often searching eBay for NOS stuff and often the '60s era stuff is lumped right in with the '80s and '90s era stuff for which I'm currently looking.  Looks like those harnesses typically command $150-$250 NOS.  I've also got a couple contacts you can try if that fails.

Re: horn contact in column

I am not willing to pay 150.00 to 200.00, I am on a fixed income and I will figure out and save the money for a new wiring harness, which is less expensive.

Completely Understand !! You are in the same boat as many of us here

You can try your luck with a $20-40 harness from Scott drake or something . They are hit / miss . But will get you by till you can (if you need to) get a NOS

Re: horn contact in column

I can donate a contact and spring if you pay postage. I will be replacing my nearly new Scott Drake signal switch soon.  The old one works fine as far as horn function, but won’t cancel. Garage point?

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.
