The original vinyl mat in my 66 coupe finally bought the farm so I'm looking at a low buck redo. Anybody have any ideas/pics on custom trunks?

I put in some polystyrene foam board on the sides and bottom....then glued black carpet over that. I built a speaker box for the rear speakers and covered it with carpet also. (Real lo bucks deal) I sealed ALL the holes I could find in the trunk (there were a BUNCH) Spray adhesive works pretty good (and smells GREAT!)
Really dressed up the trunk area and quieted down the road noise and dust migration and fumes.
I would take a picture butt it just looks like a "black hole".

Ya, I did the custom trunk deal, only because my son wanted to do it. Never again though. It a real pita getting to stuff behind the panels, although they are easy enough to remove.
There is a panel that covers the two speakers.

I neatened up my trunk a couple weeks ago. It was one of those things that was eating away at me for a few years. I am still going to fix up where the hinges come through, and make a little 'box' that goes around it. Only took me a weekend, but was a pain in the but as I have no patience when it comes to woodwork ha ha.
I have an efi tank, plus the fuel filter in the trunk so I wanted whatever I came up with to be easily removable.
10 removable screws hold the entire trunk together(plus some interefence fitting between the panels/body. Can remove the floor and access the efi gear in about 1 minute.
Also cleaned up the battery box and replaced my moroso box with the taylor one. As the taylor one is fully square(unlike the moroso which has indents in it), there is plenty of space inside, which allowed me to fit my starter mega fuse, rear power distribution and isolator all in the box.

Look at Rock Auto. They have trunk and interior flooring by ACC with the best prices that I’ve been able to find. I purchased my interior flooring for my ‘65 coupe. Extremely satisfied. Have considered doing my trunk but holding off until important projects like driveline reassembly is complete first!
