I know this will seem to be placebo, but I noticed the different acoustics from the exhaust post mod/job and after the owner got the car back, the next day he asked me about that......
They must be related right?? All that was done was intake and 4bbl economaster installed.....addressed a small vacuum leak and thats that! Could exhaust sound differently from this at idle????

I take it you're a young guy with good ears
Kidding...kind of. I can agree with your observation. The reason I first installed Thrush turbo mufflers on my Mach 1, was because when I had them on my first 56 F100 with a 352fe, they were as quiet as a church mouse. Not so much on the 69.

Mixture can make a big difference in the exhaust note. Once had a used 76 K-5 Blazer 350 and it seemed to be running a bit rich. Took the main jets down one size (.001 inch) and the idle sound instantly got throatier...more "hard hitting", not as soft. Fuel economy also improved and so did the power. Had the same experience with my cousin's 307 with Edlebrock pot. Learning how to tune a carb is something that's worth your time.

Alright thanks for the feedback guys.....
So is it conclusive that swapping from a 2bbl intake/carb to a 4bbl would/could change acoustics?
I mean, that carburetor was designed for economy vs performance, so Im betting that Jetting is weaker, but Venturi are much smaller than the 2 barrel (when obviously strictly using primaries....
I just find it so strange on how noticeable the sound difference is compared to before....even though both Idle very smooth and well....Could it be the fact the previous intake repair used the wrong gaskets AND did a horrible sealant job (restricting airflow)??

Noticed the same thing on an El Camino I had a long time ago. It got alot deeper sound when it was changed to four barrel carb.
