1966 Mustang Coupe
Does anyone have a pic similar to the one shown or perhaps a diagram for a 1965-66 coupe mustang? I'm trying to get an idea on the stock routing of e-brake cables. I'm using a center console ebrake lever with rear disc brakes. The cables will need to be routed slightly different but I'm not sure if I'll be able to use the stock mounting positions. Those two brackets on the side of the tunnel with nothing mounted (I believe) housed the old ebrake cables. I might try to reuse them or remove them and use something with a much smaller profile like just some cable clamps. From another forum, apparently there was a wide variety of ebrake cable setups for 64-70 mustangs. thank you

The emergency brake path is your white line not painted under the car . The hangers are at right spot before turning right and left . these are the same on my 66 . Hope it help

Red arrows point to the cable HOUSINGS that will go from your brakes to the brackets you mentioned in the tunnel. The CABLES will extend from the rear brakes, through the HOUSINGS, and then up to your lever system.

Do you by any chance have a picture of the best way to connect the cable housings and cables to the Cobra calipers?

Awesome thank you. That's what I figured. With the new lokar center console e-brake the two cables need to come together about 4 inches before (closer to the rear) than that bracket shown in the picture. That bracket is one I made when I was trying to make the old drums work with the old cables. The two cables need to come in as straight as possible. I'm leaning towards just using some cable clamps instead of the original brackets that mount in the tunnel. I'll probably cut those off to allow for the exhaust to be pushed up a little higher.

The cobra cables available through MustangSteve fit right onto the cobra calipers.
Cable housing fits into the housing stop and the end of the wire connects where the red arrow points.

I don't see these for sale anymore on the Mustangsteve.com website. I need to replace mine. They somehow bound up on the inside.
