It's been raining here for almost 3 days. Mustang is in the garage and I guess it's the cold cast iron and high humidity which causes condensation. Water clinging and dripping. Mixed in with blow-by. Looks like an oil.spill.

No, it's as if the motor sweats.

Your garage sounds like Corkys garage(he's in Fort Walton Beach) Fla. high humidity + sounds like the contractor "forgot" to put down a plastic vapor barrier under the concrete.
The fix..................Put down a continuous sheet of plastic between the floor and where you park. Sorta block the moisture.
My guess

I have that several times a year here in Michigan and the only fix I have found is to turn on the heat in the garage a while to drive the moisture out. Everything in my garage sweats and it is a mess till I heat a while even if it is warm enough I really don't need the heat but it drives the moisture away. My garage does not have a moisture barrier under the floor so the floor sweats too.

If you have old fashioned work light with an incandescent bulb, you could turn it on and slide it under the engine and the heat from the bulb would probably solve your problem.

A room sized de-humidifier should work, too.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
