Hey, r/Mustang. First time Mustang owner. I have a 2004 Ford Mustang V6 in Dark Shadow Gray (CX). Just bought it about 3 months ago from a retired gentleman for $4000 with 85K on it. Everything is original and it was in pristine condition. However, I have to drive the highway to get to work, and now the whole front bumper and hood is covered in paint chips and road rash, making it look horrendous. There’s also two or three chips on both doors and one bad chip on the roof that’s starting to show rust in it. I want to get this taken care of as soon as possible then get it protected with a 3M clear bra. All the chips are less than the size of an eraser shaving, there’s just a lot of them and there’s no dents or anything. Is that something an auto body shop can fix or are they going to want to paint the entire hood or front bumper? Either way, does anybody know what kind of price I’m looking at? Thanks in advance! The problem with trying to make that many spot repairs is that if the car had single stage paint on it they might consider it, but with a basecoat/clearcoat finish its so time consuming, and the potential for long term problems is too great. They will want to at a minimum reshoot the hood and front bumper. I would think a good quality job could be done for $500-$700 depending on the shop. Consider its probably $250 in materials alone. I'd use the best shop I could find so you don't end up with overspray everywhere, etc. Get some references. Usually with this stuff you get exactly what you pay for, so if a price seems too good to be true it probably is.

Check at auto supply places for touch up paint in your color. This is what its for..touch-ups!) Believe me....IF you drive the car its gonna get chipped. The paint touch-up spots tend to make the chips disappear. (NOT to you!!...you will always see them butt the rest of us, when we see your car, won't notice any repair spots. )
Congrats on finding a nice Mustang!
