Correct axle bearings for Lincoln Versailles rear?

So I pressed off the bearings from the axles in my Linclon Versailles rear end since I'm rebuilding it (including the traction lok) and was trying to ensure I ordered the correct new ones.  I've been checking my usual sources (rock auto, O'reiley's, NAPA, and ebay) and can't seem to ID the correct ones.  The ones I have area sealed - in fact they were seeping grease.  Here's a picture along with the number on the seal:

I'd like to get a quality bearing like Timkin, but some of the ones I've seem are listed as "A20" or "set 20" and don't look like this one - they don't seem to be sealed, so I wonder if they are designed to be lubricated by the differential lube?  Is there an optimum bearing for this housing?  Can anyone help?

Also, there are two seals - one inside the axle housing, and another outer seal in the bearing retainer, to which the stock Lincoln Versailles disk brake calipers attach.  Here's a picture of the outer seal:

I'm installing MS's rear disk brake kit, so I assume I replace the stock bearing retainer with the plate supplied in the kit.  But what about the outer seal?

Re: Correct axle bearings for Lincoln Versailles rear?

The Versailles (large) axle bearing part number is 88128RA.

If you see a listing for an RW-207-CCRA bearing, it's an axle bearing for a small axle bearing drum brake Granada/Monarch 9 - inch rear end.

If you are converting to Cobra (or other rear disc brake assemblies), the outer axle seals are not used. The inner axle seal part number is 51098.

Re: Correct axle bearings for Lincoln Versailles rear?

Old post but it came up in my search.  Do you have to use the Versailles axle retainer or can you use aftermarket universal retainers?  Since I have new 31 spline axles and will be getting new bearings I'd just as soon get new retainers instead of going through the hassle of removing the bearings and plates from my old axles.  Also, I have a 9" posi I am going to use in my 67 with an AOD but it does not have the yoke or flange that attaches to the driveshaft.  What yoke should I get. Thanks

If you're using the Versailles rear discs/caliper assemblies, the cast caliper anchor brackets also double as the axle retainers. If you'll be running the stock Versailles disc brake components, the steel retainer brackets you have pictured would not be used.

Re: Correct axle bearings for Lincoln Versailles rear?

I forgot to mention, I am using the MS rear brake conversion kit.  I purchased the kit years ago and it's been sitting in my other garage and now it's time to start the install.  Looking at the instructions online just now it looks like I eliminate that bracket - is that correct?  So all I would need to do is install the bearing and the round retainer?  Thanks

Re: Correct axle bearings for Lincoln Versailles rear?

Just follow the instructions.  The MustangSteve COBRA rear brackets are machined to replace ALL oldbrake hardware and will be the new bearing retainer.  Versailles housing uses the large 3.150" OD sealed bearing.
Be sure you have the correct large bearing cobra bracket set.
