does anyone have any ideas on how i can get the inside for the cowl painted without get paint everywhere?
after the car was painted the paint inside the cowl started flaking off and i don;t want rust to start.

Inside the cowl is nearly an impossible place to paint. I masked the daylights out of everything and hand applied the paint with whatever gizmos I could fit inside, like sponges, small rollers etc. Wasn't pretty, but it is protected.

Go to Eastwood site online.
They have Rust Encapsulator Paint and a 24" nozzle extension (part# 12512) that will reach in to inside of cowl.
Black Rust Encapsulator paint 16060Z
24" nozzle 12512
I use the Prep Spray to clean out the Nozzle extension for later use. Part#10041Z
As far as tackling flakey paint you will need to Dream that up yourself
the nozzle should fit other spray paint cans.

Just thinking out loud here.....What if....you pour paint in thru the cowl grille and have the car tilted to one side........then tilt to the other side!?
Like they say in Georgia......"let 'er slosh on one side and t'other"!
Why wouldn't that work?

When I put torque boxes in my 66 I used weld through primer to coat all the bare metal. When done I used 3M cavity wax and their wand kit. The kit has 3 wands in one foot increments. It works very well getting into all the little spots.
