Re: custom driveshaft

I was going to have one made too, but just picked up a drive shaft out of a Crown Vic police cruiser for $50 at my local salvage yard. It’s aluminum, 3.5” shaft diameter and has 1350 series u-joints. I’m going to bring it down to a driveshaft shop in a week or two and have them shorten it, balance it and throw in new u-joints.  All in, it should be less than $200, not including the tranny yoke.

Re: custom driveshaft

I was thinking about picking one up from another car that I could have made to fit. I know a shop that shortens and balances for less than $100.

MY TKO 600 came with the appropriate yoke so I do have that.

Re: custom driveshaft

Sonnax makes aluminum driveshaft components.

I had a local shop make mine up with Sonnax stuff.  Good way to loose a little weight.

And to answer your questions...

It was about $500 with a yoke.
