Think that guy smokes crack a lot?
I mean, I get it, its NOS, and its for a BOSS 302, but honestly what's the difference between that and having the one you've got rechromed? I run across stuff like this on eBay all the time as I'm gathering parts for my '89 GT. Most people are reasonable, but you run across guys who must be quite literally nuts. Its like they never bothered to check the market they just put a part out there and think "its NOS, someone will pay it". There's a guy trying to get $2,200 for a pair of '87-'93 hatchback quarter windows that are NOS, but have damage to the rubber. Basically I think they were Carlite blems sold back in the day for like half price. Mint NOS ones go for like $1500-$1800 a set. Yet they'll sit there on eBay forever, clogging up my search results until somene with more money than sense buys them or he finally gets a clue.
Sometimes I hate dealing in the NOS market. You run into some real pieces of work, and real pieces of ...

If it's for a Boss 302 and ONLY a Boss 302 he may get his asking price for it. However there's a good chance it's the same dipstick used in a plain jane 302 also and he conveniently forgets to add that bit of information.

Gen 1 Lightning specific parts are getting the same way. Was a guy trying to sell a lightning longblock with E40D and the PCM. Nothing super special really, but he wanted $3200.00 *and* it had a 170K miles on it all...

While reading this I was just wondering if you kept those or let them go with the GT, Josh. Guess you kept them...good for you.

FWIW Fox Resto is presently rebuilding the coupe quarter windows (OEM glass with new rubber), and consensus is the finished product is better than the OEM ones because they use a urethane that doesn't degrade over time the way the rubber did. They are working on the process for the hatchback windows. Once they have perfected it my guess is the market for the NOS ones is going to take a hit. I'm sure they'll always be worth something, but if the coupe windows are an indicator they are likely going to go from being worth $750-$800 each to more like $500.
