Looking for an anaversity gift for Brenda

This is near by and I can check it out, she really likes the pics. What do you think about the price.

Re: Looking for an anaversity gift for Brenda

I don't know what they are bringing, Walt, but if it makes Brenda happy and she'll drive it (to a Bash) I say you only get one chance and as Mike would say, "git busy livin'".

Looking forward to seeing you kids again...soon, I hope.

Re: Looking for an anaversity gift for Brenda

Looks like it has been completely gone through, so the price looks low. I don’t like the look of the rust on the fender bolts, so look at the underside very closely. Ask if you can lift the carpet to look for floorboard rust. The fact that the owner says it passes the “smell” test is important. That means that it probably does not have internal water damage. From what I can see in the pictures I think it is a good deal if you don’t find any major structural problems. That and you having garage space to store it. I have been a T-Bird fan my whole life so it might mean something for me to say I wouldn’t mind owning that one. It will get really lousy gas milage though.

Re: Looking for an anaversity gift for Brenda

My dad had one when I was a little boy.  I remember how fascinating the back interior and such was.  It was so unlike the LTD wagon.  I know when he sold I was still little and he sold it for 300 dollars.    I tried to buy one way back before I bought the Galaxie.  In fact, the one I bid on ebay was a convertible.  A famous convertible.  It was the movie car from Brokeback mountain.  I quit bidding at 10,000.  It didnt go much higher.   But that was back in 2006.   I wished I had won that car.    I also bid on George Jones 63 Galaxie convertible.  It sold at a reasonable price.  I think it went to the Volo auto museum.

If multiple things can go wrong, the one that will go wrong will be the one that causes the most damage.

Bob, Brenda already said this would be a fun car to drive to the bash. She's been asking about you guys and others.

Horn, yea I plan on going all over it. I didn't notice the rusted fender bolts, good eye. As far as lifting the carpet, good idea, South / West PA is hard on rust. I'll be crawling under this pretty good.

A friend of mine had one of these in high school. (1978) If I remember correctly it was a 66, red with side pipes. Always thought they were pretty cool. Mid 60's are my favorite car no matter what manufacture.

Mike I was searching Craig's list for Mustang/Fairlane parts and other stuff as I always do. I was looking at this T-Bird when Brenda walked by so I told her to take a look. She loved it, and next thing I know she is calling the guy to look at it. I look at it this way, if I end up with another classic car and Brenda thinks it's a anniversary/birthday gift I must be a genius. LOL    DON'T TELL BRENDA

Well we won't be driving this anywhere. These car sit pretty low so its hard to lock underneath. First place I looked was under the fenders as Hornman pointed out. Rust crumbled from inside. The out side was fixed good but underneath didn't seem to done properly. So Brenda got a ring and I got a new guitar.
