The weather has been warming up here. I've wanted to take my '67 out, but have been so busy I hadn't had time. I had to make a fairly long trip Wednesday for the worst possible reason (funeral), so I decided that since it was just me and my wife why not take the car out?
She fired up after her winter slumber and made the round trip with absolutely no issues. 65 miles each way, and about two hours drive time each way. I'm definitely still loving my TMI seats; very comfortable. She ran along at 75-80 at under 2,500 rpm. Temp never got over 195, even when pulling a long, steep grade in 5th at 80.
No one in my family could believe I drove it. I said the reason I'd done all the work to it over the past 6 years wasn't so I could drive it less. The goal was always to have it the way I envisioned so I could drive it more.

Always nice taking it out for the first time of the season. Did you cover you seats yourself?

Sounds to me like it's Bash Ready. See ya in June, TKO. It's an easy drive, only 560 miles. Two very easy days or one slightly long one.
See ya Thursday, June 20. Bash is Saturday, June 22. BS and bench racing in between. If you can do it, stay thru Monday and join a bunch of us going to the Ford Museum. This is gonna be a great Bash.
Hope you can make it.

I recovered my original seats myself when I was 15. I considered just using the covers and/or foam from TMI, but I couldn't get the look I really wanted, and I had damage to one of the frames, etc. So in the end, I just bought complete seats from TMI. They are the sport seats with the headrests. I chose them because the pleats in the covers run horizontally like the original upholstery. All the other aftermarket seats and covers had vertical pleats, which just didn't look right in a '67 (door panels have horizontal pleats, as does the rear seat).

I'd love to guys, and one of these years I'll get there. If I wasn't already scheduled to go on a mission trip in July I might be able to swing it, but its so hard to take time away from the business during the busy season, and that's my one week this summer.

Let's see? Yeah, if I think real hard, concentrate....oh yeah, I do seem to recall something about having to work for a living. Been a while so it's hard to keep in mind that you young folks are still at it. Well, your day will come.
