17x 8 tire question

what is the narrowest tire that can fit on that rim?

Check Tire Rack for the specs but I'm betting a 225 will be about as narrow as you'd want to go on an 8" wheel.

you answered my question perhaps i need to reword my question. what i want to know is what would be the narrowest foot print?
