My motor is the original 1970 vintage so I took it apart cleaned it up re greased it and put it back together. The original grease was still slick but I changed it anyway. It's still just as slow. The last time I used them was on the way home from the Ft. Walton bash and don't remember when I last used them prior to that, but many years. Is there any way to soup it up?

How much voltage are they receiving? When I changed to 3G alternator on my car, EVERYTHING started working better. A/C blew harder. Windows worked quicker.
On my 70 convertible, wipers suffered from bad ground condition many years ago. I assume since you just installed yours, the ground was connected properly.
How thick was the grease you installed?
A new motor is not real expensive. I just bought one for retrofit in my 66 at OReilly's

I will have to check the voltage. If I install a 3G should relays be installed for the lights and A/C, etc? I used general purpose grease. It seemed lighter than the stuff that was in it. Maybe I should clean it out and use Lubriplate.

It is the headlight switch and wiring that is aided by the relays. Removing the load from them and just using them to trigger a relay gets whatever voltage through the relay that is available at the battery. Never thought of one on the wipers, but maybe not a bad idea. However, if they work ok without one, why complicate things. Might try running a hot wire TEMPORARILY straight from the battery to the motor to see if it speeds up. That would tell you if it is a wiring or switch issue. At least, the 70 /s wiper motor is relatively easy to get to! I am dreading putting the new one in my 66. If a new motor gets them working ok, I think I would avoid the complexity of another relay. The more wiring, the more potential (no pun intended) for problems.
