Should I re-use my stock gas pedal linkage and pedal or should I get a cable set up either Lokar or from a different model car?

Working with the stock parts is typically easier than trying to adapt something out of another vehicle, or using a one size fits all (meaning it really fits nothing) aftermarket part. The factory setup was actually adjustable, and shouldn't cause any issues unless the carb has the wrong linkage on it.

Most of the time the factory part is easier to use or modify than an after market part. Of course, they normally aren't as cool looking and don't cost you nearly as much. I'm with TeeKO on this one and I almost always will try to make a factory part work for my application before I look elsewhere.
I'm using stock 66 throttle linkage and pedal in our 66 with EFI. Normally the throttle body requires a cable lash-up but by pointing the TB to the left on the Ford EEC-IV system I was able to make a throttle rod that connects the slightly modified stock pedal and bell crank to the TB. Works great, gives no trouble and it's actually cleaner than messing around with some after market cable affair.
