    Captured nuts on top of driver's side frame rail

    I was wondering if anyone knew what the two approximately 3/8" captured nuts in the top of the frame rail just aft of where the steering gear box bolts on are for? Something must mount there - but what? A friend at work also has a 68 and he has them too.

    68 coupe - 351W, 4R70W, 9" 3.25 -- 65 convertible - 289 4v, C4, 8" 3.00

    Clutch Z-bar pivot bracket.

    Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

    Okay, that makes sense now. Both my friend and I have automatic cars, so the nuts don't get used. Thanks MS.
