1967 Engine mounts and isolators

A couple of months ago I asked the group if my frame mounts for the engine were 67 vintage or 68 up. The reason I asked was I was replacing isolators and the new ones needed pry-bars to get them in. In the 80's I had stuffed a 429 under the hood so the original frame mounts were long gone when I pulled the 429 and replaced the little 289. I picked up the frame mounts from a local Mustang wrecking yard. This was in the early 90's. Whoda thunk the guy would have given me 67 specific mounts when I asked for them. I wish he had given me the more common 68-up style frame mounts.
As we all know, 67 is a strange year for changes and experimentation by Ford. In an attempt to lesson engine vibration Ford changed the angle of the dangle on the frame mount by a few degrees; around 12 if my math is correct. They went back to the normal frame mount in 68 but kept the 67 style for the convertibles and big blocks.
The parts stores will swear up and down that the mount they sold you for the 67 is correct. It is not! While it may work, it is far from correct.
So I contacted Dan at the Mustang Barn and had him build me a proper set of 67 mounts. The price is steep compared to parts store "68 Fits All" mounts, but I bought them anyway.
Yesterday they were installed and guess what? The fit perfect. No pry bars, no nothing. Bolt on and drop the engine. I had always wondered why my fan was not centered on the fan shroud, now I know. It is now centered.
Here is a side view of the 67 vs 68 isolators. Notice the difference in angle where the isolator bolts to the block.
