Looks like we're going to drop a 351W into our 66 upgrade. Any recommendations on headers that will work without notching the shock towers?

JBA shorties have the best fit of any I have used. I have them on my 66 with a Dart 427 stroker, which is 351w based. They also offer that header in a version designed for use with the MustangSteve cable clutch conversion. It gives clearance for the cable where it enters into the bell when using a 1993 or earlier Foxbody bellhousing.

I have coated Heddmans Everything fits fine and they have been on since 2000. But I would not look askanse at JBA's too.

I had the Heddman long tube coated headers on my 351W in my 68, with a C4 transmission. The only issue I had was one tube was contacted by the steering sector in an extreme left turn. I had to switch over to the JBA shorty headers when I swapped the C4 for a 4R70W.

Thanks. We're looking at either JBA or Hedman shortys.
