Re: Found a nice little bash car!!!

Honestly, it doesn't seem steep for what it is.  That FE stroker alone cost in the $15,000 range.  Would be fun around town, but not a highway car with a 4 speed and that gearing.  Great at turning regular tires into slicks though I bet!

Re: Found a nice little bash car!!!

As much as I like those 'tear drop' hoods.......that would be the first thing I would change!
Looks great on Fairlanes....Falcons.....63 Galaxies ....not much else.
Slip an OD tranny in that 'puppy' and drive it to the BASH!!!! (Sure to get a lot of 'passenger ridealongs ')

Re: Found a nice little bash car!!!

Yeah, that’s a sweet machine. That standard drum brake master cylinder sure looks tiny back there.

'66 Fastback since July 27, 1981. Springtime Yellow, originally a 200 cu in, 4 speed. Also a '92 LX Coupe, 5.0, 5 speed.

That’s a nice looking ride. The quality of his work should help get to his price. Hope he gets there.

Definitely not a freeway with the gears and 4 speed. Those three deuces won’t help either!!! I do like the factory long tube cast manifolds.

Mike, don’t let that tear drop good stop you, it comes with a good factory hood.

Re: Found a nice little bash car!!!

Inner headlights have to go!  Ram air baby!  I love those big cast aluminum carb covers the T-bolts had too!

It definitely needs and OD trans.  T56 would be my first choice but probably won't fit in the tunnel, and I wouldn't want to hack it up.  I'd probably build one of my ultra duty T5s for it using Astro or G-Force gears.

I'm not a big fan of those tear drop hoods on any car. I just like the old school look. You can change the rear if you want to go highway. But those cars were made to go 0-60 before the wife could say, " slow the he!! down".
