I guess Chip Foose can suck it!
Great to see stories like this. @#$% cancer! Beating that $%& is like a Medal of Honor in my book.

That’s a great story. He did what he needed to take care of her and the kids returned the kindness to him. We should all be so fortunate.
Ford and Hennessy did pretty good too!

That is a great story. But what did bashing Foose have to do with it?

Nothing really, just being flippant. Chip's done a lot of good for deserving people too. The formulaic nature of Overhaulin' simply began to drive me insane after a while, so to me it was nice to see someone else step up and restore a car for a deserving guy/family. My sense of humor I realize doesn't always translate into things I type because there's no way to convey sarcasm or intonation in it other than using italics or boldface type, which is kind of akin to performing brain surgery with a hatchet instead of a scalpel...

I have to say that I have watched Overhaulin' many times, and I also have to admit that I don't really care for a lot of Foose's restomods. He takes some guy's ride who probably has his own vision of what he would like it to look like, once he eventually has the time and money to do it, and then does the job the way HE wants it to look. Not everyone likes the lowered look, with a paint job that they probably wouldn't have picked, and especially with Foose designed wheels that I know I wouldn't want. That's why I think what Ford did for the guy was a better more meaningful deal. Remake the car as it was originally, only like new. JMHO
(I wonder how many people who have their cars "Overhauled" end up changing some of the work that was done...?)

Very, very well put sir! Musclecars don't all need 20" wheels, and I consider the guy that now has to try and maintain that exotic paint job, etc. Honestly I always feared that one of my projects would end up on that show. If I got back one of my cars it it had been converted from a manual to an auto I'd probably flip my $%^&.

I don't disagree one bit with either of your opinions about Foose. I too would be pi$$ed if he screwed up a car of mine. Heck, his show antics could be its own thread. Now there's an idea. My point was why foul a really neat feel good story with negativity about a guy who's got nuttin to do at all with the story?
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
