Two friends and I took four hours to get it set up and going. I finished the fine tuning and accessory install yesterday.
It does seem like a lot of trouble and expense just for a place to store a small boat, though. Maybe I can think of something else to do with it.
All the way up it has six foot, nine inches under the runways so the floorspace is completely useable. Think I'm gonna love it.

Ah, but consider what extra space costs. Typical addition prices are in the $100/square foot range. Suddenly seems like a bargain

I’ll be a friend Bob and will let ya bring it to my place if it becomes a burden. 😁
Very nice!

Looks great, now it will be so easy to clean your car, you can even sit while doing the wheels.

I bought the same lift and jack a few years ago. Love it.

Let us know how that extra jacking device works out on the Mustang. Might need to add that to my Christmas list.

They work great. I actually bought two of them because I wanted to be able to have all 4 wheels off the ground at the same time and not worry about using jack stands. Highly recommend the jacks.

That's a mighty fine lift. Wish I had room to install one!

Thanks for the kind words, guys. I haven't even put oil in the rail jack yet. I'm sure I'll get the Mustang up there in the next couple of months but I don't plan any major...or even minor...work for a year. My plan is to change nothing but the oil on the Heap between now and the Bash.
Someone want a boat? Make you a heck of a deal.

Got the same exact set-up years ago. That jack is very handy just remember when you are under a car that is on that jack, the roof of the car might already be close the ceiling! Don't ask me how I know? I also dug two scissor jacks out of the junk so I can easily get all four wheels off the runways when I need to. They are handy for all kinds of other work too.

Good advice, DC. According to my measurements I could put the Mustang all the way up if I wanted to butt (TS&T), then the bottom of the car would be close to 8' feet up...and I only go 5, 11 so unless it's just for parking, it would be lower for working. So, it looks like I would have to try hard to get the car into the ceiling....not sayin' I couldn't do it, but I'd have to try.
The reason I wanted one that goes so high is so I can move freely around the shop without thinking about those head-bangers, and so far that works great.

Very Nice! Love to have one but the 9' ceilings in the garage wont allow for it.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
