What spare tire will fit 2016 brakes front and rear on ‘65 coupe?
I’ve been told some years have deep backspacing that may interfere.
What years?
What models?
Size tire?
Backspacing?
Temporary spares?

I would start with a spare from that year model Mustang. Do you know someone that could loan you one for testing purposes?

94-04 is best bet, but check UCA clearance in front. These have deep backspace, but not as deep as later years.

Thanks for advice, I will look into it.

Try a Ford Spare from 2016. There're not cheap, but they should fit. If you are lucky, you might find one at a junk yard. Don't try pick-a-part as that is too soon for such cars to migrate down that far.

Mustang Maxxis Temporary Spare Tire T185/60R17 16 hole aluminum rim 17 X 5 #4R33KA
Here is additional information received today.
Measurements back of rim to mounting flange 5" Bolt pattern 2 3/4" hole to hole 4 1/4" across hole to hole 25 3/4" dia
May have to pass on this one.
I see prices for the newer spares on eBay and makes me consider just run a full size tire.
By doing that, it would prevent excessive junk in the trunk on road trips.
Pack lightly!😁

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
