Hi all , finally i got my edel 500 in my car . But i got some questions for who knows how works . ain't got user manual.
Out of the box , set linkage for pedal , connect 12v for electric choke and run.
Is running good but idle is high and i can't lower it also if i unscrew the idle screw and the fast idle chocke .
i am missing something or there is other screw around ? i want to lower idle . There is something more that keep rpm high ? not that much , i am around 1500 right now, but i would stay around 900
Then about electric choke : i got 3 g alternator from powermaster that says to hook up the 12v for choke , in a specific wire ( white /black) coming from alt . vs edelbrock that says not to hook up from coil and alternator.
This is because they are referring to old alternator ?
Is correct to follow powermaster instruction and use that specific wire ?
When choke is warmed enough does this 12v disconnect by itself or is always 12 v in there ?
Thanks !

Check REAL CLOSE for a vacuum leak. Usually when the engine won't respond to turning the idle screw the FIRST place I check is around the base of carb/manifold for a vacuum leak. You DID use a new gasket....right?!
I would totally disconnect the electric choke until the idle situation is fixed.....then adjust the choke.

Idle speed screw is on the linkage, but there is a main screw and one to adjust the fast idle for when the engine is cold. Are you sure you're turning the right one?

Helllo tko , yes the idle speed screw is just above the fast idle , need to open the trottle to see it .
But as sayd 6sally6 i havent use a new gasket so .... my bad ! if the problem is there i can fix tomorrow !
i will try without choke to see what happen , then take a ride to test it ! At first shot seems all good !
Thanks !

Ciao Alessandro,
check also if PCV valve properly work and tubes are right connected.

Ciao !
TRANSLATE IN ENGLISH
Marco write : Are you the Alessandro that bought me hedman hedders ? I had some trubles with mine 1406 and 1405 . I was in the need to buy a calibrating kit . Actually i ride the old 2100 . Bye
My reply was : Hi Marco , yes i am ! I just installed the new 1403 and seems working fine , no dark smoke, needs a set up with choke and idle speed . Probably i will need a kit calibrating .
I like the headers , easy to mount but they are very low on the ground and speed bumps can be an issue .
With muffler sounds is not loud , but i can do better .
In this site there is a page dedicated to car story , if you want to see my story let see " mustang starting resto " .
Bye
Ps : maybe you have a 302 laying around, at low price ?
Ciao !
This is the translaction from italian .
hope it helps

About the beginnig of this i found what cause the high idle .
Was a pipe that touch a passenger side braket in the carb . after choke , This pipe was touching a little and dont allowd the ( i think are chocke braket ) part to work freely . Now i can set idle and fast idle as i want .
I consider this post closed , but i will start a new one because the car is riding rough under load . So i don't want to mix the post and arguments .
