1968 fastback

I would like to know if anybody replaced deck lid molding  the little plastic clips that hold the molding on has a plastic pin that goes down though it to expand the ears to hold it on  when you try to put it it on by pushing molding down it expand the ears and wont go in  any ideas

Can you post a picture of the clips on the decklid?

Its been a really long time, but as I recalll all the plastic clips must be on the decklid first.  Then you gently whack the trim down onto the clips.
