Now I know how a dog feels "chasing-his-tail"..........

As y'all may remember...I replaced my long tube headers that were on the car when I bought it 20+ years. Have no idea what brand they were. They sure fit good though!
Drove it a few days 'straight-outta-the-headers' and they were LOUD (even for me). Sounded sorta like a  C/G or maybe an old C/SS!!(at least it did to ME!)          any who....
Went and had the exhaust modified to fit up to new headers. Cost more than the headers did!
WELL........these headers hang down lower than the old ones
I have maybe 3....3.5 " clearance to the road.
The front coils are original with a 1/2 coil cut off (maybe more) +the Shelby drop. I installed 1" coil spring isolator pads after the drop...... and clearance was acceptable.
Now it ain't!
I want more road clearance but not a stiff/harsh ride. Any recommendations?
Since it's NOT a canyon-carver (like them 'Californication carz') I will have stock shocks on it.
Also........when I replace the coil springs...........will I need a new alignment?!
Thanx

Headers that fit properly will solve your problems. Like anything else, you GET what you ACCEPT.

Yes, spring height changes alignment, quite a bit.

Money you enjoy wasting is NOT wasted money... unless your wife finds out.

Sal, you could relocate the spring perch 1". It'll give you back about half of what you lost with the Arning drop.
And give you a better motion ratio.
