rear brake hose question

I have a stock 65  289 it came with single exhaust, I changed over to duels, now the rear rubber line rides on the pipe, so i need a longer line?  Anyone have a part number or something for me to reference too?

Re: rear brake hose question

There are several threads addressing that - easily found with a search.  :-)

These suggest using the line from the 1969 Mustang to solve the problem

Re: rear brake hose question

I second what John said with a couple of considerations. (66 with dual exhaust or 69 rear brake line...they should be the same part number too)
From what I noticed, parts places want to charge more for the 66 hose.

I thought of going that route too, as Steve suggested.

However, my mufflers are offset in and offset out ( just the cheap Summit Racing system I picked up used).
Bends aren’t quite as nice as name brand exhaust system...your system maybe okay.

Route new flex line to lower LH passenger floorboard. (corner opposite driveshaft tunnel)

The flex hose inlet is not 3/8-24...it is 7/16.  Just so you are aware of this difference as well.

Re: rear brake hose question

If the hose is still too short you can re-route the hose to get it by the exhaust/tailpipe.  I tie wrapped a  bigger hose around my rubber brake hose as an added layer of protection.

Re: rear brake hose question

I have a Acell thermal heat boot for spark plugs on it now, but want to replace because of age so why not get it out of the way too

Re: rear brake hose question

The whole purpose of the 69 hose is that it is routed downward to clear any exhaust issues.

Plus, since it is a Mustang part, it should be easily replaceable in the future.
