Re: Lee Iacocca

Well, by proxy the minivan and the K car of which it was an extension saved Chrysler.  That''s what I'm not sure was good or bad...

Nah, nothing cancels out the Mustang!  God rest, Lee.

The man was an automotive genius, if it wasn’t for him Shelby as we know it today would not exist.

Careful Daze, all the soccer moms out there think minivans are the greatest invention since the can opener.

Re: Lee Iacocca

I have a 67 Mustang and a 2015 Chrysler mini van. Love them both have bought 4 Town and country minivans in a row. All have been very reliable. Just serve a different purpose than the Mustang.

May he always be remembered.

Reminds me of a beautiful day on I-5 in California in my 86 GT convertible...behind a minivan going slow in fast lane, smoking a cigarette, all while talking on the car phone.  All I could do was laugh about it when I was able to pass her. 😂😂😂

I too had an 86 GT Convertible... Sold it with 396,000 miles to the kid down the street for $500. The only time the car left me stranded was when the in-tank fuel pump died. The engine only had 200,000 miles on it as I swapped it out for a Ford Racing 302 small block at 196,000 miles. Engine ran great but would not start when I got home from vacation. Since I had the new 5.0 sitting on its shipping pallet I swapped engines. Still would not start! Twas the thick film ignition module that was bad. It needed a clutch anyway and the 5.0 came complete with clutch to Fuel Injection, the whole shebang for $1100. I still have the 86 original engine sitting in the garage.

Re: Lee Iacocca

Went to see Ford versus Ferrari yesterday. Totally explains the Mach- e.

Re: Lee Iacocca

Latest piece of information: the Mach-e is supposed to go 0-60mph in 3.0 seconds. That is probably why they thought they could get away with calling it a Mustang. Plus, they plan to quit producing all the other cars. The product lineup will be Mustangs, SUV’s, pickups, and commercial vehicles.
