I just picked up a mustang coupe a project that got away from it’s passed owner who didn’t know what he was getting into.i was just cleaning up the rear and noticed all the paint markings from ford. The question is what to do with it.
looks to be all original but the tag seems to be the only thing that is missing. I do not plan on restoring the car.
from what I see it is a 1967 deluxe coupe.

I know people have bought cars just for the Deluxe interior

The tags can be purchased reproduced if you care about it. Marti Auto Works has them, along with any other metal tag needed for your Mustang.
The tag missing doesn't mean anything. Probably the rear end was serviced and the tag was lost or discarded. No one thought these cars would be worth money one day when they were newish.

8” or 9”?

Looks to be an 8 inch

If 8”, I would use it for whatever purpose suits your needs. They never came in anything that would be considered as highly collectible.

If you can get a socket on every nut its an 8". If you need a wrench for the bottom two its a 9". Even a 9", if its not an N case probably isn't anything all that great strength wise. A lot of guys poo poo the 8" and elevate the 9", but in reality you need slicks and power to break an 8", but then a stock 9" would probably break under those conditions too.
