I was curious about how to go about removing the TAD/TAB on the 92 Mustang GT.
Online!
Remove the hardware and replace the solenoid valves with a 75 ohm, 5 watt resistor (between the two wires). That will keep the computer happy and it won't turn on the MIL. You also need to plug the secondary air injection ports at the rear of each head.

Is this in an actual '92 Mustang or in a swap application?

This is in an actual 1992 Ford Mustang GT.

Why do you want to remove them?

The TAB/ TAD vacuum hoses were previously semi hacked up and I cant find the hose harness after market. Plus it would look better in the engine compartment

BB's resistor trick will work on a Fox, but not on a 94-95. I turn it off in the tune ... resistors are cheaper.

The vacuum hoses are not reproduced. They turn up used in decent shape for not a lot on eBay. They can also be spliced back together with rubber tubing or sections of nylon replaced with appropriate tubing.
The issue you have with removing them is that then the AIR system ceases to work. Most people think that's a good thing, except if you have to run catalysts. The catalysts need the air from the system to avoid clogging. So if you have to run cats to be emissions complaint I would get the system working properly again instead of removing it.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
