Merry Christmas - - not for me

Seems every year at this time of year trouble hits Rudi's place.
Bad things seem to happen in threes, a couple of weeks ago my big buck 65 inch led TV crapped out, then two days ago the downstairs crapper's wax seal gave way and toilet water started to leak into the basement.
Today the coil spring on the garage door decided it wanted to carry on  in two pieces.
If it weren't for the grand kids I'd head for parts unkown this time of year.

Re: Merry Christmas - - not for me

Buck up Rudi!

Google the model TV and see if there's a simple, cheap fix.  This happened to one of mine and it cost me all of $50 to fix.  They used a failure prone processor that was easily swapped for an upgraded one.

Hopefully you had a safety cable in the garage door spring!  Cheap enough to buy and easy enough to replace.  Stinks, but they don't last forever.

On the toilet I've started using these new style seals that cost more initially, but can be infinitely reused and seal better than wax, with no real way they can fail.  Home Depot/Lowes all sell them now.

Bad things happen in threes, you should be past it!

Yep, bad things happen in threes. You have filled your quota, so Christmas is going to be good from here on.

Three bad things at once...sorry Rudi.  Butt (TS&T) at least, only two of them were "crap out".

Re: Merry Christmas - - not for me

Finally all is well, crossed fingers!
Got a new 65 inch Panasonic 4K, not a bad picture on it but not as good as the old LG was.
I along  with my #1 helper Lyn, we got the throne back into service.
ThIs morning an Overhead Door service guy spent an hour and a half getting the garage door operational once more.
Time for a few B52’s and a look see if any thing good is on tv this afternoon, this old guy needs some r&r before Santa comes.

Merry Christmas all and a Happy New Year.
