Why, oh why do the parts suppliers send stuff that does not fit?
Yesterday after the family left I tinkered with the install of the 67's new A/C kit. Mostly I was pulling things apart. I started in the engine compartment pulling radiator, hoses and such. My old radiator seemed to be its last legs (seeping at the bottom seam) so I'm glad I snagged the new aluminum one.
The new radiator mounting locations look spot on with no changes needed. The shroud mounting locations are good on the bottom and about 1/4" off on the top. A round file will elongate the elongated holes just fine.
The new 3 sheave pulley is another story. 3-Bolt and the bolt circle is to small. There is no way in #3!! that pulley will bolt onto my balancer. I called support this morning and engineering is out till Monday, Gary, the help guy, used a tape measurer to measure outside to outside distance of the holes. He came up with 3.25". This is very close to my caliper measured distance of 3.26" while the one in the kit measures 3.205". Clearly a manufacturer muff on the new pulley supplied in my kit. Hopefully on Monday a new pulley will head my way.

Was the pulley a cast iron one. That’s the kind they sent me, iirc I sent it back for a credit, it had to be the ugliest, heavyest piece of crap I have ever seen.
I upgraded to March pullies that fit the Powerforce dampener which had 3 and 4 hole mounts on it, I still had to spin up an adaptor ring so they would mate.
Are you using the stock dampener?

They sent me a stock looking stamped steel pulley. It looks like a quality "Made in China" part. I too have an original cast iron pulley sitting on a shelf in the garage and while they be ugly but most likely will last forever. The cast iron pulley came with the engine; it was out of a 65 Falcon. The support guy had no calipers to measure anything so I'll wait till Monday to talk with him again when the "Engineers" are back on the job.
Balancer is a Ford part C8ZE-6316-B that I got through a parts local parts store in the early 90's. This was way before the internet "Search and Buy" was prevalent. I remember telling the Babe (and I mean a real Cutie) behind the counter what I wanted and a few weeks later she called. I was amazed today when I took a picture of the part number that it was a Ford part.
The complete rotating assembly, from pressure plate to balancer, was balanced in 1996 so I really don't want to change balancers at this point but will if needed.
It all seems so simple. Buy the kit, install the kit and drive, but we all know there are gotcha's and hidden cost in any upgrade.

Would a standard 3 groove Mustang pulley work? I have a milk crate full of Ford pulleys and probably have a spare.
