Australia fires

The disastrous inferno that is happening down under is very heart breaking. My heart goes out to all the folks in OZ and hope that it will come to an end very soon.
I wonder how our own Barry is being affected by the fires, hoping his relatives and homes are spared from the fires.

Re: Australia fires

We should be chopping the hands of the arsonists that start 50% of the fires.
My state has the fires under control. The neighboring state, bigger than Texas, half of it is burning.
Have friends and family, who have, or will, lose everything.

Re: Australia fires

We're safe ... in Palm Springs CA at the moment. My home state has our fires under control.
The 7 acres that our house, (and cars), is on, is covered in bush, which is covered by a vegetation protection order. Think I'm gunna have an accident with a D8 Caterpillar when I get back.

Go for it!

I know folks here in Calif who have lost homes in our wild fires of the last few years.  It is saddening to hear their stories.  Thank goodness you and yours are safe.

Re: Australia fires

"vegtation protection order", you have to be kidding me!
After day or so of brush clearing  My reply to that would be "gee, sorry your honor, I must have been sleep dozing"

Re: Australia fires

At last count, 200 arrests for lighting fires .... mostly juveniles ... so no penalties.
