    1967/68 Center console For Sale or Trade.......Trap door/non fold Trap

    Hi all, I tried posting about the console in the Swap Area with no result.
    Figure id try here. Essentially I own a complete and Very Good condition 1968 Red Console. The Car was converted to a Manual therefore it does not match anymore.
    Sooo looking to convert my console to manual or Trade for a manual 67 or 68 entirely if anyone require....

    Also

    All I require to complete my 68 rear red Interiror is a Non Fold Down Trap Panel, but if a Trap Door Works I'm good with that (does anyone know if you can use a trap door on a non fold down system?)
    If anyone has either I'm looking to buy

    Lastly, are 67/68 doors the same as 69/70?  They look to be so!

    Purty durn sure  the center section of your console can be swapped out for a std shift section. OR........you can 'git-after-it-with-a-grinder' like I did my 66. Won't antibody know butt-chew if you do a neat job!!

    The auto shift spot is too long, even if a grinder is used it doesnt match.

    They do not sell 68 aftermarket inserts, at least not that I could find.

    So back to:
    'Trading for a 68 Man. console/insert'
    Trading for a 67 man console
    Selling this one
    Or if anyone knows how to convert 68 into a 67?

    6Sally, I think I misunderstood what you meant about using a grinder earlier.

    I had since purchased a 68 Manual insert, then needed a grinder to cut the hole on the Vinyl Padded section. Great advice, I would not have done any of this if the restoration shop didn't cut the Console Housing Already for the conversion the previous owner had done. Seeing as that was already butchered, I figured why not. Turned out pretty great if you ask me!

    67-68 doors are not the same as 69-70
    67-68 has vent window and frame around the glass
    69-70 has neither
    Outside door handles are the same though.

    Doors?

    No one was talking about doors.....rear fold down Trap Door.  Was asking if 67/68 and 69/70 Trap Doors the same
