Online!
Wow, I started searching around and all I can say is that I hope their products are better than the website! I noticed they have wiring info for their GM tank/fuel pump assy, who knows if they use the same pump though...

Same here. I looked and looked and found nothing about the wiring.
Online!
According to Summit the fuel pump in that kit is a SP169A1H, still looking for a pinout.

Hey Y'all Thanks for confirming I'm not too lazy (this time) to do my own leg work for finding the schematic
Its going to have not only the Hi-pressure pump also fuel level gage and ground wires,
Nos681 is using the same unit in his coupe, and I figure Dan can tell us.
Worst case scenario I'll call Spectra Prem tech line Monday

I've heard quite a few horror stories bout crap in Spectra tanks ... sumthin black and nasty clogging stuff up.
I'd try to clean it out before you seal it up.

Who's this new Tubo guy? It's nice to hear from you Corky. My flame in Gulf Breeze wants to know when you're hosting another Bash

Thanks Dan! I looked and looked and could not find this document online. Piss poor website Spectra has.

I’m attaching some additional info how I wired it.
I have the 1970 22 gallon tank F28DFI
PLEASE VERIFY YOUR WIRING
I’ve slept since then.
I believe I may have switched the “black” and “black/white” wire due to size.
I wanted the larger wire on fuel pump circuit.
Either wire will handle the current for the included pump.
Both are grounded in the trunk.
The only problem I ran into was the “rubber” gasket.
I was able to use Aviation form-a-gasket on seal to stop leak.
I wasn’t able to pull entire assembly out due to sender/pump without disconnecting the float arm.
I didn’t want to break anything since garage was freezing cold after draining tank.
It was as winter time of course.
Therefore, I had form-a-gasket all over...me as usual.

Thanks Dan, the info you've given here and sent me is working on Miss May now. Full installation isn't far away.
Yup Aviation form-a-gasket has been used by me on several fuel tank square o-rings. Good stuff.
And Thanks to Gary for the helpful nudge, too.

I haden't had much info on the Spectra Premium tanks though they do seem to have a large distributor ship, Auto Zone, O' Reileys, Summit, RockAuto, etall. Dan seems very pleased with his. a Quick flush out couldent hurt though.
Just about a year from noe Karol & I should be seeing you & Leonie in OZ, Yeah!!

Who'z Tubo!?!? Well I believe I wuz there at your BB christening Hehheh
Hosting another MSBB would be so far in the future as to never happen. I am the only one besides MS to host more than one, and there are plenty of more worthy FYI'ers who have yet to host one.
However, The Shrimp is on the Boil Now!! And if Ya'll have to be invited, Ya can't come.

REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
