Looks like folks get there early in Texas. Last one in Bako closed about 15 years ago.

We still have one of the last ones here a few miles away. It's funny that the Amish brings a radio and parks there buggy's out along the road and watches for free.

The young one's do when when Ma & Pa not around, some even have a car stash somewhere and wear regular cloths.  Saturday night's one or two will hang around a store looking for someone to get them a carton of beer. In large gatherings they need to put a number on there horse and buggy's because all look the same.

The Amish aren't exactly a cohesive group.  There are considerable regional and community variations.  Some communities allow cell phones, others only land lines, others land lines in sort of an outhouse by the road, and some none whatsoever.  Power usage is similar.  Working in the "English" world they use power tools, but usually not in their own communities.  They aren't prohibited from making money, and often this is a driving factor in terms of what's allowed and what isn't. 

The image of Amish as super pious is also wrong.  They brew and consume beer, and throw some raging drunken barn dances. 

Many Amish leave their communities for the English world during Rumspringa, a time in late adolescence.  The idea is that they explore the rest of the world before deciding to commit or not commit to being baptized into the Amish faith.  In recent tears a lot of communities have experienced decline as many have decided not to return after Rumspringa.  Some communities shun former members who don't come back, others don't, again, it varies.  I have friends who grew up Amish and did not choose that way of life.  They still see their families often.
