What clutch actuating options available are there for a 5.0 block that has the mounting thingee on the back rear of the block broken off it?
Offline
Do you still have it? It could be welded back together by a competent welder.
Other than that a hydraulic throw out bearing would be my only suggestion.

Cable clutch or... california pony cars sells a pivot that bolts onto blocks without the provision for a clutch stud. Maybe that would bolt onto yours.

^^^^^ That's what I have used ever since I switched to a roller block. Heavy duty piece that uses two of the bell housing bolts to attach to the block. The pivot ball is a threaded piece that screws into that piece. Made to work with a Z-bar set up.

Hydraulic throw out bearing seems to be doable. My van with a 300 CI six had oneThanks guys.

I switched to a hydraulic clutch and am quite happy with it.

I still have the original mechanical arm on mine. Not sure if I will ever change it? I did a hydraulic clutch on another (non Ford) classic and it was a hassle.
I have heard that I can't fit Hi-Po headers on my car with the original clutch bar set up. Is this true?

I wouldthink...........the Z-bar set up would work fine with Hi -Po manis since they came from FoMoCo that way.
(" back-in-the-day") Yeah, should work.

There is a 289 Hipo specific z-bar that was used on Hipo Mustangs.

Personally I'd prefer a mechanical clutch linkage of some kind (cable included). I find hydraulics numb and often hard to discern the exact engagement point. In some vehicles they are just what you have to live with. I have three vehicles that have them. You get used to them, but I much prefer my '67 or '89 with the cable systems.

Yep that's it! Mine has TWO threaded holes where that one has just one. Might was to trial fit this and see if another position(threaded hole) might work better for you.
