Speedo Cable

After more than 2 dozen tries at getting the speedo cable hooked up the the speedo I think I finally got it. F&#king Ford and their better ideas. Who the crap designed some of this stuff.
I do understand that if the steering column and parking brake junk are not installed the speedo cable would be much easier to install. I still don't have to like it.
I was gonna give it one more try and then the C4 was coming out.

Re: Speedo Cable

My replacement cable was just a dab(maybe a dab and a half?!) longer than the FoMoCo one. Made it easier to screw back into the speedometer. The stock one is too durn short.....no wiggle room.

Re: Speedo Cable

Which end did you connect first?

I found that it’s easier to connect the speedometer first, then the transmission.
With cable not connected to transmission, can easily turn cable to line it up to head unit.

With my chopstick arms, I can reach through above clutch pedal side and connect.🤪

Edit...clutch pedal...forgot I was upside down🤣

I did disconnect both ends and it did not seem to help. There is so little room in there to get my monster paws to work. I would try, give up, try again, give up about 30 times. 30th time was the charm.

Wheel seals arrived today so I plan on doing something more fun than dash work. Wheel bearing repack.
