I followed the directions in the 67 bible. I have exactly the same play in the bearing as I started with. I did not use a torque wrench except for the caliper to mounting bracket bolts. This has worked for me so far in my limited lifetime.
The book says the caliper to bracket bolts should be torqued to 55-60 ft/lb, I chose 60. The book also tells me I should safety wire the bolts. This I did not do unless the forum pressures me to.

Yes they are drilled for safety wire. I have always just torqued and this time I torqued and used blue locktite.

No safety wire is an automatic order of the road defect in Oz.
I've never seen those dust cap clips before.

In the airplane world we safety wire the caliper to bracket bolts. I have seen pictures of this being done on the early mustangs but I never have.
The dust cap anti-static springs were pretty common in the AM radio era. Mine are still going after all these years.

This one was last done on Jan 12, 2010 and previously done on June 16, 1980. Since it is for home use and not certified stuff I figure it prolly pretty good. This TCI-1600 is my favorite torque wrench, a click type with no ratchet. My neighbor that move this past summer had a sweet digital Snap-on TW. That was a nice torque wrench.
