    My first ever A/C hose crimp job

    About five years ago, I got a good deal on ebay on a Snap-On A/C hose crimper.  Tody I used it for the first time.  This is one of the highest quality tools I have ever seen, for something that gets turned with a wrench.

    I think with some practice, I will get better at it, but for now... the three I did today are on the car and hopefully I will have cold air to get to the bash.

    I just spent six hours working on the AC system.  That included 1 hour for routing, trimming, crimping and reinstalling the pressure hoses and FIVE AND A HALF HOURS installing the ducts and air supply hoses under the dash.  And I still have to reroute the hose going to the driver side vent.  There is just NO PLACE to route that thing.  Best fit was between pedals and firrewall but the clutch pedal hits the hose, so I would have to create something to hold the hose flatter against the firewall, and that is still not a good fit.

    If anyone has any experience with this VINTAGE AIR system in a 65/66 Mustang, please let me know how you routed the driver side vent hose.

    While I was working on the dash parts, I had the vacuum pump pulling the system down.  Gauge reads right at 30.  I will check in the morning to see if it holds overnight.  Then all it needs is some R-134a freon, plus an engine that runs that can turn the compressor.  Still waiting on ONE MORE PART to get that going.

    Forget dimensions...  I'll just ship the tool to you.  You can borrow it until I get ready to do the truck.

    I'll swap ya.  Ultrastang has my AOD rebuild tool kit and book.  I do believe you said the truck was gettin' and AOD.

    The truck's AOD has already been professionally rebuilt and road tested for two weeks before the car it was in got totaled!
