Can the diaphram in the fuel pump be ruptured and sucking oil from the front cover?!

When I first read that theory, I thought "no way" that pump would need to be sucking A LOT of oil to get the kind of blue smoke I was getting.  but then I got to thinking about how the gas was cycling in and out of my headder tank for the high pressure pump and though... "maybe"  I will get an electric pump hooked up and see what comes of it... if I ever get out to the garage to work.

Could it be an oil pump putting out more oil than the return passages can handle?

I don't think so.  if that was the case I think I would loose oil pressure as the bottom end ran out.  Also the oil passages look clear.

Re: Blue Smoke???

UPDATE:  99% sure I figured it out and it was totally my fault.  I forgot to retorque the intake bolts after a couple heat cycles, and I think oil was getting between the gasket and the heads.  Didn't realize this until I pulled it apart so I wasn't able to tighten the bolts down to see if the problem went away When all this started I was messing with the Megasquirt unit and I was trying to get the IAC working correctly.  What I thought was the IAC having issues was the vacuum leak. That would also explain why the auto tune in the megasquirt software started to make the mix a bunch richer.  After It all cooled down I installed the carb and my problems seamed to go away once the oil was burned off but as the engine got warmer I started getting blue smoke under vacuum load.  Sometimes it's the lille things that get us.
