I like it!

My wife Dianne likes it too.
I had considered this plate several years ago.
Michigan plate changes are “supposed” to occur every 10 years...don’t know if they enforce it to the letter.
This was the year to change it...requested plate back in February.
Ironic with everything going on right now.

I like it. My plates were given to me as a gift from friends that bought a historical home and found them in the garage. $35 for lifetime registration.

In DE people are crazy about license plates. We never did the plate by year thing, so a tag's age is basically based on its number. Original tags were just numbers with no prefix. Eventually they started using C (Commercial), D (Dealer), PC (Partly Commercial), etc. Cars and trucks under 8,600lbs GVWR have PC tags. Tags without prefixes will easily exceed $100,000 when they change hands. Low digit (3 or less) PC tags start around $30,000, and even 4 digit ones are now commanding $10,000 or more (particularly ones that start with "19" and make a year).
Our tags stay with the person, not the vehicle, so when I buy a new vehicle my tag goes onto it. My family has had several low digit tags over the years (grandad used to have PC9). My Mom had two 3 digit PC tags, one that was hers from when she turned 16 and the other from my Dad as a present. As the only one in my immediate family that still lives in DE I now have both those tags. The one my Dad bought my Mom is on my WRX, and when I got my Mom's original tag (when my brother moved out of state) it went on my '67. I'd thought about it for years and a couple years ago it finally happened. Mom's original tag from when she was 16 is PC167. Not a slam dunk as PC1967, but still, that's prophetic. When I bought my car I was looking for an early mustang '65-'70. I happened into a '67 (two actually, but that's another story). Fate? Higher power? Who's to say, but if nothing else I suppose I have decent karma.

Texas has gone nuts with personalized plates. Some popular ones go up for bid when they come available and some bring crazy bids.
Mine expire this year. I think I will not be renewing them for the $100 a year cost, above the normal registration fee.

While I have never felt the need to spend extra bucks on personalized plates I have enjoyed trying to figure out the meaning of many.
DIHAPPY was pretty easy to decipher.

Hey Steve, the convicts spelt my name incorrectly
We are lucky here in Ontario, personal plates are permanent

Agreed. I could see paying an additional one time fee to have them make the plate for you, but once the plate is made and on your car, it shouldn't cost any more to renew a custom plate than a regular plate.

Personalized license plates are a revenue generator for the state. No way they will let them go for a one time fee.

I agree about a one time fee only.
Not like they make the same plate each year so you can have the privilege to say you live in their state.
I don’t smoke, therefore I’m still ahead in the tax revenue game!😂
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
