Here is an original scale model that the Ford Dealerships were giving away as promotional items back in 1965. It's about the same color as my car too. I wonder if there are still many of these around. Some friends gave this to me as a gift.

I have one. Also given to me by a friend. Mine has white walls instead of red lines. I figured out the photo posting problem. Mine is a darker blue or turquoise.

Not Mustang but Ford T Bird.
We went to a Mustang event at Ford world headquarters years ago and they handed out these outdated promo kits for the ill fated new gen T bird. The delivery of the 2002 was way longer of what was promised so Ford came up with this kit to appease those who had preordered them. It must have cost Ford a pile of loot to put these out for the disgruntled buyers.
The kit had a beautifully detailed model 2002 T bird model in the colour you ordered , book ends, trinkets and a lot of history literature and so on.

My fixation on FORD is at least partially a result of them giving out 1/24th scale model cars when the new models came out during the early 60’s. My dad would take us to the dealership snd somehow we came home with a new plastic car. I had quite a collection. Sure wish I hadn’t sent them all to “a kid played with it” death.

Fords were always my car of choice. This is the first Mustang model I found. I didn’t care for the Mustang II but ld never seen one. It is also the very first model I ever painted. I painted one more after this and never again. It looks like a barn find.
REMEMBER!!! When posting a question about your Mustang or other Ford on this forum, BE SURE to tell us what it is, what year, engine, etc so we have enough information to go on. |
