    07 seats into a 65 2+2

    I just recieved the leather covers for the 07 Mustang seats I've been holding on to for a couple of years. and it strikes me having the classic seat rails attached would be better done now, than after the 07 buckets are newly covered. For sure several folks have done this mod, and I'm sure there are as many ways of doing this as there are folks having done it. I'm buying 69 pans from The Bros Buzek to facilitate the swap. My issue is what brackets/rails to cut off the new seats and how/where to attach the classic seat rails. Drivers seat is powered. If IRC I did run a seat power lead when I rewired the car.
     If you have some thoughts Plz LMK

    C orky, I installed 06 seats in my FB. I unbolted the 06 seat rail assembly and used 66 rails. You'll only have to drill two holes, one on either side, in order to mount the 66 rails. I then used four steel spacers per seat along with grade 8 bolts. Spacers between the seat frame and rails. Then Tubo torque them. Can't remember what size spacers I used but I did purchase at Lowe's.  Not sure if I have pics, but I'll check. Hope this helps.

    Thanks j-kb it's apparently easier than I thought it must be. NO welding!!
    I will give you a call tomorrow, cos I do not see a place to unbolt the existing rails right now. 16 seats shouldent be much different than the 17's I have.

    The bolts are probably hidden by the slide rails. Adjust the slide to access the bolts.

    Corky,
    Do you expect to use the power functions of the seat?  I'm told that causes the seat to be too high in a mustang.  It worked fine in the Falcon but that's got a much higher roof.

    The bolts are hidden and can be a bear to remove. I used a wratcet wrench to remove mine. Tight fit but you'll get it.

    Yup, in talking to Glen, I believe he said Steve has a power seat in his 68 FB. Maybe part of why use the 69 seat pans. And if I don't use the power, IDK if the seat will be manually adjustable

    Corky when I adapted power seats to my 69 I didn't use the power feature and mounted the seats solid to fit me. Keeps other yahoos from driving your car

    The 2011 seats I installed were pretty easy and I used the original 67 seat rails. Had to drill a couple of holes. Seat's come apart real easy so getting to the bolts was easy.

    I saw no reason to keep the electric stuff since I am the only person to drive the car, Carolyn does sometimes. The seat goes forward and aft, what else does it need.

    All I kept on the 95 seats was the power lumbar. It's still a tad too high. Can't really lower them cos of the convertible inner rocker. Hoping the reduced diameter wheel (thanks Jim Bowie and BB) will help.

    I’d find a way...even if I have to attach blocks and sit on pillows to see through the steering wheel. 😂

    Yes, they recline! The lumbar also works.

    Hey Corky, the seats in Steve's car are not power and they do sit low. I used the power mechanism in my car and they are high. The seat rails are 3/16 flat plate with new holes to fit the seat and floor.  I do have the 67 seat pans that I took and inch off of before welding back in year ago.
