2016 caliper-parking brakes

97-02 Escort parking brake cables for drum brakes.
Some minor modifications required at caliper end (tack weld a washer).
Factory cable route used.
Custom front cable by Mustang Dan. 🤣

This setup could be used with a floor mounted hand brake as well.
97-02 Escort front cable will attach without modifications.
Front cable length could be modified to floor brake placement easily.

The loop is larger than needed at caliper.
Could place filler weld in rear 1/2 of loop.
I may do this later if needed.
The zip tie keeps loop from detachment during assembly and JIC.
Will use safety wire or stainless ties (like for header wrap) for long term.

2016 calipers with new rotors has about 1/4” travel to set brakes.

I included the 97-02 Escort front cable for floor mount applications.
Cable stop crimper borrowed from work was purchased at Tractor Supply.
Front cable, stops, and e-clips purchased at local hardware store...look for Hillman parts boxes.

Good job Brian.  Any interest in meeting somewhere in the metroplex for coffee to show and tell with our cars?
