I need some sparkplug wires for a Chevy because they have 90 degree ends. The FoMoCo(135*) ones are just too durn close to the crappy Patriot headers (mid lengths). I made an Alum. sleeve to go over the plug ends butt they are cooking the terminals (3 of them)
This is my 3rd set of headers and they all are close butt these!!!!!!!OMG! Crumby fit.
My pal Pat has a SBC and I may try some of his warz to be sure this is the answer.
I'll let chew know.....

MSD makes multi angle boots as well as straight, 90, and 45 degree boots. They also sell really good double crimp terminals. Problem is you wind up having to buy the stuff piecemeal, but its really, really good quality and works well. I have their crimping pliers too. Spendy, but the best I've ever used.

Spark plug wires is spark plug wires.
So long as they don't have bowties all over them .

Take a look at 2000 explorer plug wires for 5.0L.
They have aluminum heat shields.

Last time I did wires, I had to get two kits. One had straight boots, the other 90 deg. I needed 2 90 deg and 6 straight. Two different colors - one was 8mm black, the other 8.5mm blue. Probably not the best combo, but that was before we had all the stuff on the internet, so I had to go with what the parts store had. The ones that could be bent were not available at the store and the parts people were very unknowledgeable about what was available.

135 boots have always worked on every SNF I have ever had. I wonder why yours don’t fit?
Ninety degree boots do not work well at all. I tried some. They wind up being right against the header flange.

Yep, working on wires for my 331 and just ran into (hah) this situation. Waiting on my new boots from Summit so I can avoid melting the boots.

My pal Pat is bringing some warz he has over. Fits his Shivel-lay 383 stroker/smoker..... (MS's favorite color)
Gonna do a trial fit and see how they work. May need to buy TWO sets of warz to get a good set-up!

For those too young to remember, sbf 289,302 and 351 came with 135 degree boots and those awful make ends at the distributor end.

Steve
Are you referring to the female socket on distributor cap?
Especially when the terminal stayed in the cap and wire in hand.
Yeah...I remember that.

'Tried-on' a couple warz with the 90* boots and..........they worked like a charm!!! Guess the next step is contact old Summit for a set of blue-un'z to match watt-eye got.
Although.....I'm not sure if a 'leaking/shorting spark plug wire' is my issue...seems like I can 'feel' a little miss (sometimes) at low speeds.

Make sure that wires for cylinders that fire next to each other aren't run close to each other. This can cause an inductive crossfire. Chevys were bad for this on cylinders 5 and 7, which is why they eventually changed the firing order on the LS series engines. On a 289/302 it would be cylinders 7 and 8. I think also why the order was changed on 351s and 5.0s.

Sounds to me like you need better headers.
