Re: Today is April 29th OR.............................4/29!!!!...........

Mad respect for what it was, and it sure does make me smile, but I've no desire to own one.  The car is worth too much to have fun with, and the engine, great though it was in its day (though not really in stock form), much smaller engines are making a lot more power now without all the rare and hard to find/expensive parts.

That's all very true, Tom.  Butt (TS&T), if you are into unique, well, you gotta drool.  Back when I was doing Model "B" bangers there was noting like a dual cam Hal on on B or a 16 valve, dual cam Fronty on a "T".  You wanna talk about rare?  But we built 'em and we drove 'em and we raced 'em....hard.  Then we scrounged or made new pieces and put 'em back together.  That rare stuff is just....well, special.

Try to find a cooler looking motor than the B9.

Oh for sure.  I always love antiquated engineering.  This was bleeding edge stuff in the late '60s.  Magnesium vavlecovers.  That wasn't even being used by Indy teams at the time.  My comments weren't meant to disparage that aspect of it.

I remember the days when a car had to have a big block or it wasn't #$%^.  All our Vettes, Chevelles, etc. were all 396, 427, or 454s (yes, I grew up in a Chevy family).  Now all but one of those cars would get its @$$ kicked by a decently tuned LS.  That L88 in my uncle's '67 Vette though...probably still spank a Hellcat.  That car was sick.

Well said. Cars today start better, run better, crash better, last longer BUT YOU CAN'T LEAVE OUT THE COOL FACTOR of the old cars.

Remember this one. 4/27 if I'm thinking correct. Not a close up, not as pretty but the cool factor was off the chart.

I remember that well, Walt.  Bash 13, June 24, 2016.  Friday lunch after a morning of de-bugging.
That's  the real deal with the 427 side-oiler option.  Belongs to an acquaintance of mine.  As I recall, It was the hit of the day.
